There is nothing better than the original, many will agree. Especially for this group of original restorers we have added the model of the original steering wheel to our range. It is a reproduction, but a high-quality reproduction equal to the original.

The steering wheels of the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia and VW Type 3 are supplied with a chrome horn ring and a mounting kit.

VW Bus steering wheels up to 7/1967 are supplied bare; the horn cap has to be bought separately, but steering wheels from 1974 are supplied complete with horn cap.

Most steering wheels are available in a few different colours; just like the original, Volkswagen used these colours over the years. For most steering wheels there are additional options, stated separately. For the Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and VW Bus steering wheels after 1974 there are also spare parts, in case your old steering wheel is still in good condition but a certain part needs replacing.

Options for the VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Type 3
The turn signal ring is not supplied with the steering wheel as standard. If the old one is still usable, you can transfer it; a better option is to order this ring straight away, then you can be sure the set works correctly. This ring is only used for a limited number of years, so it may be that your old steering wheel does not have this ring. The ivory steering wheel is supplied without horn cap; add this (choose from three models). The horn ring is included, but you may prefer a closed version (which was originally an accessory for the VW Type 3). Click on the part number for more information and a photo.
