For the Volkswagen Beetle the pop-out rear side windows were an extra factory accessory, not very popular because of the price and our climate, but a very popular accessory in countries with higher temperatures.
Before new pop-out sets came onto the market, used pop-out windows were brought to Europe en masse from various hot regions, which drove prices up - at a time when demand exceeded supply. With the arrival of these window sets the situation has changed; why spend a fortune on an unrestored, usually incomplete set of windows when they are available completely new.
On the deluxe versions all preparations for fitting are present; on the base Beetle 1200 versions produced in Mexico, holes for hinges and locks have to be drilled - not that this is a lot of work, but it has to be done.
The kits are supplied almost complete, only the final finishing on the body is missing. Take this addition (available separately in our shop).
Caution! If an extra set of rubber window seals is supplied, it is advisable to use these instead of the old ones for a better seal.
